A twitter and home page for Jackleg Participants has been made, I plan on putting information there about the games development along with here. Don't have much use for this blog then other then just putting my thoughts somewhere for the games. Mods like Shoddy Round 2 will keep being worked on just because there's so much work left there.
Amazing progress has been made with the completion of Shoddy Round 2 almost finished. Some changes are on the way like cutscenes for almost every song. At first it was just simple (albeit trash) dialogue. So quality control is all over the place with the mod. Just thought some discussion with it is nice. The source code of the first mod will come out along the release of Round 2.
Wanted to make an update and got lazy last post with what I had. In reality I think it would've been better for me to just hold the info in to just blast a bunch of info into this. For now I just specify some things, like role cards for a first. Role Cards will be replaced with newer ones with different circumstances and some edits to how many characters will die per chapter. Things like color Locksmith, Specter, Grifter and Bystander with old unused roles like Analyst and Immolation.
Firstly the role cards. Just a quick explanation starting off with the Locksmith card. The Locksmith card is the replacement of the Keymaster but with the opposite mindset, you wouldn't want to have it. Once the holder holds the card if voted for as the victim then they die as everyone else leaves the death game. Then there's Specter. Specter is a card that the holder can't say, any vote for them once the main vote happens is useless and means nothing, if they're chosen as the victim then the 2nd most voted person will be the victim. Grifter is a card that once the holder has it that they can push themself down from a vote, for example if they're chosen for the main vote they can use their ability so no one can vote for them. (This also works for when they're chosen as the victim.) Then there's Bystander, it's just a commoner reskin.
There are the Analyst and Immolation, which are reskins of the sacrifice but the Analyst is connected to a random participant. If that participant is chosen then the Analyst will also die. I thought there was just too little characters to add something like a Sarcrifice card.
Secondly, artwork for the game is being made for things like War of Words but only for Chapter 1-1 (so far). Here's a quirky preview of the window icon.
Lastly, I don't really know how long I want it to be, or how long it can be, but I do want to add things like War of Words and the Discussion System. Also it'll most likley be released as Chapter 1-1, so development can be smooth, as I am the only one doing this. This is all I have to say for this blog post, just to sum things up: War of Words will happen, Role Cards will be created anew and new art will be made for it. Alright that's it, goodnight.
Was able to get this done. Photo of the actual game itself, as of now I'm just working on trying to replicate certain aspects of the game. (i.e sfx playing when dialouge appears, discussion system, sound effects, etc.) Probably going to change certain things like the fonts, text size or get help from reddit users.
All of the script is being written in a google doc with some portions being ignored for now for the sake of progression. So most things like the discussions are being put on the back burner for now, although certain events like War of Words and stuff are being placed in the well secured area known as the back of my brain. Namely quirky things with Kurumada, Hinako, Hayasaka and Mai. Poor Anzu has nothing, gotta think about something for her. I also just really wanted to update and put this progress out there, this blog really does help me with putting my thoughts out.

Ok alright after a quicky test, hopfully no one saw, This'll be the icon I'll use for when I'm posting about Your Turn to Die or anything related to it. I'll make more quirky versions of it later for other games but for now that'll do. I'll make it smaller in my own time but for now this'll do. If it isn't obvious enough already, I love Your Turn to Die, go play it now if you haven't.
All I really have to say about Jackleg Participants is that I'll be using Rep'ny and this'll be my first time trying to do something like this with games. Kind of always just been playing games, never really trying to make one. Because of this I'll be forced to ask for help from places like discord and reddit. So for now I'm just bring over some assets I'm planning on replicating from normal Your Turn to Die.
To give some explantion on what Jackleg Participants is: Jackleg Participants is a Your Turn to Die fangame that I'm working on focusing on the dummies of Chapter 3-1. That's basically the gist of it. God please have these spaces work.
This is my first time using it so I'm a bit confused but I think I can manage. I'll try doing some kind of template so then when you read this it'll show a tiny image saying what game it's about, if it's a screenshot or look into the code, development progress, etc.
As of now Shoddy Round 2 and Jackleg Participants are really the only things I'm working on. I have some other ideas but I'm going to try and stay focused on those two for now. This blog is using jimmystyle.css cause I thought this needed some kind of personality. I don't have any update on anything Shoddy related other then it's basically all done, but I can say Jackleg Participants has started on Rep'ny.
I'll leave it at that for now. I might update this later today or come back with actual stuff to say or screw this up another time. Thanks for reading lol.
